Confidence Might be Your Best Fashion Statement

I'm not a big fan of Angelina Jolie but, I have to admit, that girl (or her stylist)  knows how to wear clothing.

I don't think it matters what she wears--she carries it off with a simple elegance. I loved almost everything she wore in the Accidental Tourist. I can watch that movie over and over--just for her clothing.

The same can be said of Rene Russo in The Thomas Crown Affair. I loved everything she wore.

When I try to define why I think these women look so elegant, I think it comes down to the confidence they exude. They don't care if you like what they are wearing. These women are confident in their own skin and it shows.
That's one of the things I like about getting older. I no longer fixate about what people think of me. I'm happy in my skin...it's taken me years to get to this point. That's not something you can airbrush.

South Florida: What to Wear to the Office in November

A couple of years ago, I posted about what to wear in South Florida during the month of November in my Walking In Pretty Shoes blog. To date, that is one of the mostly widely searched posts on my blog

To help you in your quest for the perfect work outfits, here's a recap and update to that post.  To see what you would wear out and about during the day, and for more elegant evenings in November, head over to this Walking in Pretty Shoes blog post.
  • Hair: The humidity no longer plays a factor in our hairstyles in November. You can curl your hair and expect it to stay. Hallelujah!
  • Shoes: The rainy season is over so you can wear any type of shoes you want without them getting wet, but for a work environment, leave the flip flops and sandals at home. Think polished: pumps are the go-to shoe here.
  • Clothing: Think skirts and blouses, or shift dresses. It's still a little warm for pants but if you're not into dresses, go for a light-weight dress pant. Whatever you wear, refrain from showing cleavage or your stomach. Crop tops are a no-no.
  • Sweaters and jackets: You can't go wrong with having a blazer or sweater because offices and  restaurants are crazy with their air conditioning and you'll be reaching for it a couple of times a day.
Here are some examples of appropriate November work attire in South Florida. These outfits will work for happy hour after work, as well.

I hope this helps you decide what to pack or wear for an office during this fabulous month in sunny South Florida. Florida girls, any other tips you would add?
